That's what I thought when I first needed to use these functions, but later
on I figured I was wrong- looks like I was right in the first place. Cheers!

Huh?! I thought FreeBSD was a Unix-derived OS, not an addition to DOS. And
if DOS is the only platform Allegro supports at present (yes, I know the
Linux port is in the works), then.... either it's a very convuluted
solution, or I'm missing something.

That's good... perhaps this isn't the place to ask questions about the
fundamental differences between Mode X and 13h (going by the Allegro manual,
they seem to be two distinct beasts). I'll go off and bug the readers of the
MSDOS groups for an answer instead (good search results notwithstanding).
