Maybe you ran out of environment space: enter set at the prompt and see if the
above line shows up.
If it doesn't, you have to give the system more space to hold all your
variables:
Change config.sys:
SHELL=C:\DOS\COMMAND.COM C:\DOS\ /E:1024 /P
