You are entitled to disagree, but please keep that disagreement to 
yourself, and don't act as if everybody else MUST agree with you, or 
suffer your ``jokes''.  If a joke offends somebody, then the prudent 
thing to do is to not repeat those jokes anymore, even if you cannot 
possibly understand why is it offending.  (And in this case, you should 
have understood, IMHO, and well before posting it.)

It is not irrelevant.  You were mocking a name of foreign origin.  It's 
always like that with names: the native names are never funny, only the 
foreign ones are.
