i suppose so...i'm rather embarrassed to say that i actually *did* read
section 22.20 of the faq while trying to find the solution myself.  i
suppose it didn't sink in, b/c i had just spent three hours sifting
through the message archives (with all replies to similar problems
referring to the all-too-infamous solution of not setting the
environment variables).

but, as a side note, i think it would be wise to include that specific
warning in the installation instructions...
and yet...kudos to all the contributors to djgpp and GNU binaries on a
job well done.  keep up the good work!
