Nope, but now I have. It seems that if either of two cases we'll have a
crash:
1. name starts with a "-".
2. a symlink (DJGPP kind)


1. can perhaps be explained as some .bash_login thing (although I
haven't got any such file)

2. can't be explained that easily.
