You need to at least read the docs ;-)
RHIDE saves the EXE in the directory where you start RHIDE. So if you use
a "direct access" (a very bad idea IMHO) you'll need to configure the
working dierctory. The .o files are stored in the directory indicated in
Options|Directories|Object.
If you want to work with "direct access" icons create one of them for each
project directory you have or one entry by project in the start menu. In
this way you can tell W9x from what directory you want to start RHIDE.
Now how I use RHIDE:  I work in a DOS box (normally using Volkov
Commander) and then I change to the directory where my project is, finally
I run RHIDE from this directory. In Linux I run from the bash prompt
because Midnight Commander doesn't change directories and interferes with
curses.
