Sorry for off-topic post, but I think it could be usefull

Perhaps the best way is to get better download program that supports 
resuming broken downloads (eg. I'm normally using Netscape 4.5, but 
downloading files with NetWampire:
   http://netvampire.hypermart.net/)

It works Ok even with bad Internet connection (of course slowly)
