The steps that you describe are all okay.  So I'd guess the devil is
in the details.  For example, it's possible that the source code of
your library or the header jgui.h have some programmatic error.

If you cannot figure this out, I suggest to post the exact error
message(s) you get from the linker, and the code fragments near the
lines whose numbers are reported in the error messages.
