Hmm... now how did you manage to find out about this newsgroup without
finding out about DJGPP?  Indeed, that's exactly what DJGPP is, a C
compiler for DOS, and more.  www.delorie.com/djgpp/ for more.

As for serial numbers, that might be tricky.  Probably every computer
manufacturer implements serial numbers in a different way.  But you
could read the Interrupt List and see what there is helpful:
