If this could be done, I think we should do it. The current setup with
the linker script belongs to the days when a new DJGPP version always
went together with GCC and Binutils. This is no longer so.

> crtbegin.o and crtend.o are generated from crtstuff.c which is in standard gcc

In that case, I agree that it's better to switch.
But why wasn't it done like this to begin with?
