I suggest to upload the port to v2gnu subdirectory of the DJGPP
sites. (Please contact DJ Delorie for the uploading instructions.)
There's nothing wrong to also have it in GNUish, or in any other place
for that matter, but it is best to have a copy together with the rest
   of DJGPP.

This would be fine; however, there will be a mingw32 (Win32; GNU C)
executable also. Are these acceptable in the djgpp collection?

Matthew Cepl originally asked simtel to add the files to the main
collection. The full story is complicated by the fact that the original
request included files for which there was no proper contact.

David Kirschbaum <kirschd AT Simtel DOT Net> passed the request on to
me, writing:

We accept uploads only from authors or their agents [...]
Also, separate conversation with GNU people has confirmed that they want
the actual source on Simtel.Net when we include the binaries .. and I
suspect that the lout source would be far bigger than we can afford to
   store.

I strongly suggest that the binary packages you found be uploaded to an
actual GNU site. Please contact the following individual (who's being
cc'ed this message): hankedr AT dms DOT auburn DOT edu (Darrel Hankerson)

I interpreted this to mean that the main simtel site which is
available on CD cannot accept the sources (even though the sources are
not that large by today's standards), and that the non-CD areas (djgpp
and gnuish) could upload appropriate files.

The lout sources are roughly 2meg and the binary distribution will be
roughly 2.2meg in zip form. This includes considerable duplication
from the main sources (to simplify the install), but other
arrangements could be considered.

http://www.linuxgazette.com/issue27/adelman.html contains an
introductory article on lout. My involvement is only in compiling
and testing; I'm new to lout.
