It's just a bug, only complicated by the fact that when your program
runs on top of RHIDE, the bug doesn't reveal itself. Usually, such
bugs are due to use of uninitialized memory (lower memory addresses
tend to have garbage in them as opposed to higher addresses which are
mostly zeroed out).
