I have heard several reports like this, all of them referred to the
IBM Thinkpad, and I think they all had Windows 95 running. I'm led to
believe that there's some incompatibility between DJGPP and Thinkpad,
possibly related to Windows 95. It is possible that the problem only
happens for specific configurations of the Thinkpad (are there any
people who successfully use DJGPP on similar systems?).

However, none of the people who reported these problems were willing
to follow up with some digging under the hood to find the reasons for
this crashes. If you are willing to do that, I'd be glad to help you
solve your problem (and possibly make DJGPP better in the process).

The first piece of information that might shed a light on this is
whether these programs crash if you boot the same machine into plain
DOS mode. Also, please try other DJGPP programs and tell which of
them crash and whether they crash in the same way as gcc and go32-v2.
