	This is because you do not ask the graphics card which mode-numbers it uses. 
There is a function (I believe #0) that retrieves a list of modes that are
supported.  You can then use another function (i think #1) to check the
resolution & color depth of each mode.  You can use this to make your program
work on ANY card seeing as your fix will not work on every card.
