Which libc source distribution are you using?  The v2.01 source used
a rather awkward building system.  The v2.02 alphas have a much
tidier system; you just need to do a small amount of configuring and
then run Make.  However, v2.02 is not fully released yet so some
parts of it may not be completely stable.
