Subject: (off topic) Free Online Programming Books

Umm, this isn't strictly relevant to DJGPP, but based on lurking on this
newsgroup for about 6 months, I think some of you might find it
interesting.

Macmilan Computer Publishing has a feature on their website www.mcp.com
that you might like. Basically, they have converted many, many, of
their programming, and computer books to HTML format. All of these
books are available for online viewing throught what they call a
"personal bookshelf." The books they have available include the QUE,
SAMS, and New Riders press books. (MCP is the parent company of all
these publishers)

Basically, you pick five books, and they go in a list on your personal
bookshelf. You can view and read the book online at will, until your
hearts content. You can change which books are on your list at any
time, but you can only have five selected at once. And, best of all,
its free.

I guess they do this free, because they think it will encourage people
to buy more of their paper books. Of course, they have online ordering
so you can order the book your reading, if you find it interesting
enough.

Well, sorry for the off topic part. But it *is* relevant to programming
in general, and a great free resource on the net..... kinda like, mmmmm,
lets see...... DJGPP!

Yeah, I knew I'd find a way to make this halfway on topic.

Cheers,
Phillip Rhodes
