I recently got a problem like that whan I installed DJGPP on my 386 w/o 
coprocessor, 8mb RAM. The problem was that the compiler needed a math 
coprocessor to optimize my program.(-O2). Now im compiling with all 
optimization switch turned off and GCC did not crash anymore.
