That's because Emacs is by default case-insensitive in searching for 
strings.  I bet if you set the option that makes it sensitive, it will 
behave like the stand-alone reader.

Also, it's not exactly accurate that Info is case-sensitive: it is only 
correct when you type the full node name and press RET.  However, node 
name completion is case-insensitive, so if you press TAB instead, Info 
will convert the name to the correct case, and then you *will* be able to 
access the node.

I don't think it is correct to make Info case-insensitive, since there 
could be cases of two nodes whose names differ by case only.  I actually 
saw such cases in the past.
