Which version of makeinfo did you use?  If it's not the latest one from 
txi312b.zip, I'd suggest to try it first.  It's possible that some bug 
raises its ugly head here.

OTOH, I'm not even sure you can use @ in a node name, and I don't have 
time now to try.  You could try writing a short Texinfo source file with 
a single node and see if it works when the node name includes a @.
