Ok, I am completely unable to compile anything under MSDOS. gcc siply hangs,
with the command, and a newline.. I have the infore given with a Ctrl-break,
and can post it if you think it will help. I have read through all the
postings about this problem, and replied to a few. I know that the
envronmental vars are being loaded, as typing "set" at the dos prompt lists:
C:\WINDOWS>set
TMP=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP
TEMP=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP
PROMPT=$p$g
winbootdir=C:\WINDOWS
COMSPEC=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM
TZ=PST8PDT
PATH=C:\DJGPP\BIN;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND
DJGPP=C:\DJGPP\DJGPP.ENV
windir=C:\WINDOWS
BLASTER=A220 I2 D3

so the problem isn't one of finding the variables, and I did read the
readme.1st file. I've tried running gcc from the djgpp/bin dir and giving
the full path for the .c file I was compiling, and it gave the same
response. running gcc on a .c file that doesn't even exist will give the
same response, so I'm pretty sure it doesn't have anything to do with the
program being compiled. I have used previous versions of djgpp with no
problems, so I'm pretty sure it is specific to this latest build. any info
would be appreciated.
