You should find out what version of gcc you have (gcc -v).  Probably 2.7.
Try upgrading to 2.8.1.
You also have problems in the code.  Look for gcc281.zip and its c++
equivalents.  If you check the archives you should find the announcement.
Its only been out a month or so.
