I suggest to use a name that is different from `setmode'.  There is 
already a function called `setmode' in the DJGPP libc, which has a 
totally different functionality and calling sequence.  Since Borland's 
compiler has `setmode' as well, you might consider renaming yours, to 
prevent conflicts.
