Impatient, I wrote my own only to get a warning about an ambiguous overload,
which pointed me to an isnan in math.h. Oddly, it seems someone forgot to
document this thing in the info files. (I had typed 'nan' in RHIDE and ctrl-F1'd
it looking for any info entry on such a function and it found none; and then
looking under functional categories under math and under misc and in the
alphabetical list also foundnothing...)
