Did you set the path correctly?

Here is an example. You actual lines will vary
autoexec.bat:
PATH C:\WINDOWS;C:\DOS
chanes to:
PATH C:\WINDOWS;C:\DOS;C:\DJGPP\BIN

If you did that, odds are you will have to reboot.
