Common problem. I fixed it using a batch file.

path c:\windows\command
set DJGPP=c:\djgpp\djgpp.env
set path=C:\djgpp\bin;%path%
rhide -y

It seems to fix it. If you have any further start up questions, I would
advise consulting DejaNews (dejanews.com) because most of these
questions have already been answered.
