This input does not work.

The command used was

groff -Tps xx.nro > xx.ps

Then I copied xx.ps to a postscript printer (HP4) and the output was

line one

line two

Using ghostscript gives the same result. If I change the first line to
.m1 1.5i it moves everything down so the heading is printed. My initial
thought was that there is a paper size problem but I don't know what it
is unless grops was compiled with a default of A4 or something.

If it works for you I will download groff and re-install and try again.
