Do not, reapeat: DO *NOT* edit your DJGPP.ENV!  It uses arcane syntax 
which is easy to misinterpret (especially if you don't make yourself 
familiar with its description).  Incorrect changes in DJGPP.ENV will most 
probably break your installation, so just don't do it.

Everything in DJGPP should miraculously work if you set the DJGPP 
environment variable to point to the original, unaltered DJGPP.ENV.  If 
it doesn't work, don't assume that you need to edit the file: this is one 
assumption which is 100% wrong.  Some of the popular reasons for 
installation problems are described in the DJGPP FAQ list (available as 
v2/faq210b.zip from the same place you get DJGPP), section 8.1.
