By ``the header'' do you mean the first line of the document?  If so,
this has never happened to me.  One possible cause might be a mismatch
in the paper size.  What paper size is used by your printers?

If the above doesn't give a clue, post the shortest Groff document
that can be used to reproduce this problem.
