I said that the docs says the *drive letter* is prepended, and that it
*should have* said about the current directory.  Here's the relevant part:

Since it adds the drive letter, you can't assume the length of the result 
is the same.  The fact that it doesn't tell about prepending the 
directory is IMHO a docs bug.
