I'm think that you are making something wrong because 1.4 saves all these 
things in your project. 
Are you starting RHIDE with a shortcut?, can you try opening a DOS window, go 
to an empty directory, start RHIDE, create a new project, fill these settings, 
exit and reenter to see if all goes OK.
