There is a known bug in the startup code that causes this, but only when 
there is no PATH variable defined in the environment (which usually 
doesn't happen, since DOS defines PATH by default).  Tell your customers 
to set PATH and see if that helps.

DJGPP v2.02 will have this problem corrected.
