How big is your source bitmap? I just did a little test of stretching a
16x16 source onto an 800x16 destination, and that seemed to work ok.

I can't see anything wrong with your code, and since it works with a
normal blit, your source bitmap must be a valid object. Can you try to
narrow this problem down to a small source that I can actually compile
to reproduce the crash?
