Do you have access to a unix machine with the same version of gcc installed?
I would try compiling it there and seeing if it works or not.

Its possibly that you are hitting an internal compiler error.  Try adding -Q
to your command line
and see if it actual is getting through the file somewhat (-Q tells the
compiler to print out what it is doing as it is going on, so you might be
able to see on which function it is hanging).
