The newsgroup can't be down in this way... for a newsgroup to be down
it would require every single news server in the world to crash or
stop carrying it.  Not likely!

What this probably means is that you haven't given Netscape a valid
news server.  I'm not sure how you supply the information, but your
ISP (hopefully) provides you with one that you can tell Netscape to
use.  If you've already done this, make sure the spelling is correct.

The newsgroup and mailing list are linked... anything on the mailing
list is mirrored to the newsgroup, and vice versa.  So asking on the
newsgroup reaches exactly the same people as asking on the mailing
list does :).
