i wasn't trying to be a smart-ass.

all that is needed to do is (it's been such a long time, i don't
remember exactly)

+ add one or two directories to the relevant paths in djgpp.env.
+ modify the specs file as shown.
+ cd \djgpp\bin
  copy ld.exe ld.dj
  copy ld.rsx ld.exe

ok, so maybe it wasn't 10 seconds, but less than a minute ;-)

to get much windows programming done, you need to invest a lot of
resources (not necessarily monetary, but at least time-wise) it does not
come easy, and i am no pro.)
