Set the debugging options under Options|Compilers|Optimizations
and rebuild the project.

What do you mean by ...does not output anything? Usually, 
either the optimzer weeds out that particular line and
RHIDE gives a warning about "no code generated for that line",
or if you run and your program hits that line, it stops.
