As far as I'm aware it hasn't been issued as a standard
yet.  It may be 'finished' according to the committee
but actually getting it out is a different matter.

Once it is actually published as a standard, all the 
compilers will have to upgrade to it if they want to
compete, and that includes GCC.  If they don't then 
they will get regarded as not worth the trouble, just
as happened with non-ANSI C compilers.

However, actually doing the upgrading could take quite
a long time...
