Curses is a library used for text/character-mode screen handling under
UNIX.  Because of the great variety of "UNIX" consoles/terminals in
existence, the curses library allows you to write character mode
applications without having to worry about how to address the
peculiarities of a VT100, WYSE, VTEK terminals, etc, etc.  Understand?

Can't help you here, except to say that the Allegro library is
recommended, and that it comes with a ton of examples...
