The second BETA release of the VIM5 editor is now available for
download.
This release supports color syntax highlighting for more than 60
different file formats, and has a context-sensitive help system of vast
proportions.

VIM is the most popular UNIX editor on the planet, the macro language
should be fairly intuitive to anyone with moderate facility with regular
expressions.

the source, which will compile *right-outta-the-box* with DJGPP is at:

ftp://ftp.fu-berlin.de/misc/editors/vim/beta-test/unix/vim-5.0t.tar.gz

A pre-compiled binary for 32-bit DOS (NOT for Win95!!) compiled with
DJGPP is available at:

http://www.primenet.com/~imbe/vim/

You can also view the readme and a sample resource file at the same
place.

If you are using windows95/NT get the GUI binary at:

ftp://ftp.oce.nl/pub/vim/beta-test/pc/gvim50t.zip

There are other binaries there also, probably whatever you could wish
for is in that beta-test directory...

This release of VIM5 is Totally stable under DOS, and should be stable
under Win95.

Phil
