Paul,

IMHO there are two must have STL references. First of all
you should get the Standard Template Library Tutorial
from the University of Vienna. Secondly you must get a hold
of the complete STL-docs(700KB). Both are available from
http://www.sgi.com/Technology/STL/download.html
