take this for example  // in 8 bit 640 x 480

void test (void)

{
int x;

for(x=0;x<100;x++)
 {
 putpixel(abmp,x,x,x);
}
}

void test2 (void)

{
int x;

for(x=0;x<100;x++)
 {
 abmp->line[x][x]=x;
}
}

test2() seems to run much faster than test1 ( sure its direct, but
allegro seems to use its putpixel for other functions too, isnt
that a tad bit slow ? )
