That's "Atropos", the third aspect of Fate along with Clotho and
Lachesis (sp?).  Together they spin, weave, and cut the threads of
life.  Piers Anthony, when he was still writing decent books, did a
whole series called the "Incarnations of Immortality" that sheds an
interesting new light on these dry old Greek goddesses.  :-)
