This strongly indicates that the problem is with the way you set the
DJGPP environment variable. Please post here your CONFIG.SYS and
AUTOEXEC.BAT. Also, in the same DOS box where you are trying to invoke
gcc, type "set > env.lst" and post the contents of the file env.lst that
this command creates.

This is DJGPP, not MS Word---reinstalling isn't the way to solve
problems. I suggest to stop this re-installation boogie and concentrate
on the correct setup as explained in the readme.1st file and section 8.1
of the DJGPP FAQ list (v2/faq210b.zip from the same place you get DJGPP).

It is all set up by the magic DJGPP.ENV file. If you haven't changed it,
and if your DJGPP environment variable points correctly to that file, ld
should find crt0.o automatically.
