There's a lot of controversy going on about this issue. From the
limited experimenting that I did, I have never seen any significant
slow-down when using farptr function like `_farpokeb' (assuming that
tight loops use `_farnspokeb' after setting the selector with
`_farsetsel'). I guess your mileage may vary if you have abnormally
slow or abnormally fast SVGA; I tested on the garden variety system
with SVGA sitting on a local bus.
