Could you be more specific? There are a few things to note:

1) Did you pick up gpp*b.zip (I think that's it)? The binaries
2) Does your source end in .C (capital), .cc, .cpp, .cxx?
3) Did you link in the C++ libraries (or use GXX instead of GCC)?
4) You can force GCC to use the C++ compiler by typing in
   gcc -x c++ file.c

Other than that, if you can compile C, then you should have no problems.
