AFAIK the BSD malloc is not else than the one presented by Knuth in 'The art
of computer programming'. Is it not true?

I have tried some of your malloc files on my Pentium machine and the tests
run. I did not make a systematic check though. One of my programs run out of
memory misteriously (as I have 64 Mbytes of physical RAM and some 300 Mbytes
of free disk space) with the original malloc, so I replaced the malloc in it
with the one in malloc6.c but the program crashed with GFP soon after it
started. I am still investigating the cause of the crash.
