I'll admit I haven't even tried GRX22, but I wouldn't even want to.  Allegro is
 just about the perfect library IMO, it has pretty much everything you'd need,
 and it's extremely easy to use.  Not only does it have graphics functions, but
 it also has joystick/mouse support, digital sound and midi files, and much
 more.  I'd definetely recommend starting there...  It's the ONLY library that
 I've felt is worth using.
