The goal of djgpp is to make the C library sufficiently compatible
with POSIX and other DOS compilers that users should be able to port
programs from either to DJGPP with little effort.

DJGPP only targets 386+ processors running a DOS clone.

DJGPP does not modify any GNU program, except as required to function
properly under DJGPP.
