Thanks to those who replied to my posting,

I got your *e-mails*, your postings never arrived on my news server
:-( (but I saw them recently on DejaNews), otherwise I would have
replied earlier and individually.

Just a few (final) remarks:

- My program doesn't do any system related stuff; it's a quicksort
after a tutorial. It already ran well under RHIDE 1.3.

- It was my first use of RHIDE 1.4 on my PC. I didn't try it under
plain DOS, and I *won't* touch it again on my current system.
Rebuilding my system is just too much work; my backup facilities are
very limited. Anyway, in a few weeks I'll have a bigger PC with a
32-bit OS.

- Nate Eldredge <eldredge AT ap DOT net> thinks a Windows driver could be the
culprit. Well, the Logitech Mouse driver (Mouseware v6.60) relocates
itself to XMS storage (a technique called "cloaking"), and the FAT was
overwritten with text from this driver's INI-file (could still be a
co-incidence).

Bye,
	-Heribert
