Sorry!  This is due to my MS-DOS education!  What I meant was:

RHIDE version 1.3 hangs compiling ".cpp" files.  Calling your C++
source ".cc" solves this problem.

Apparently, v1.4 solves this - I'm just about to download it and
try it out.
